Loosing a remote is not rare, and sometimes its brakes in a way that it is not coming back again. If I buy a new remote every time I lose one, it’ll cost me more than the Firestick itself. So, everyone must know How To Turn ON Firestick Without Remote.

You need a driver, to run over the interface of your device, there are many ways by which you can easily control your Firestick and enjoy it the same as before.

Here in this article, you will get to know about all those methods.

Apart from just controlling Firestick and using it without any remote, there is one more important thing to think about, which is to connect Firestick to WiFi without a remote.

How To Connect Firestick To WiFi Without Remote

First, to connect Firestick with WiFi part, you can either use HDMI-CEC( Consumer Electronics Control) or use any smartphone as a hotspot and use other device to control the Firestick.

This is a very easy option to do it. If your TV is not compatible with CEC, then go for the other one.

Use Two Devices(One For Hotspot, Other To Control Firestick)

Consider a case that you are outside of your home maybe someone else’s place and will not be able to connect with your home WiFi, and you do not have a remote to switch to other WiFi connection signal.

When you turn On your Firestick there, it will try to connect with the default WiFi(your home WiFi) which is not available there.

You need two devices because any smartphone for its own network connection cannot connect to its own hotspot.

ATTENTION ALL!!!

You can either borrow someone’s smartphone or tablet as the second device, this will only take a few minutes.

In such a case you can use this method to connect Firestick to WiFi without remote. Follow the steps given below to do it:-

Setup a hotspot in one of the two devices, change the password, and SSID the same as your home network.
On the second device download and install the Amazon Fire TV app, and connect it with the hotspot created by the first device.
Connect your Firestick to TV, as the second device and Firestick both are connected with the same WiFi, you can use the second device as a remote.
Now, use the second device to reset the network connection on your Firestick to that of the local WiFi network available in that area or place.
Turn Off the hotspot on the first device, and that’s all.

You can now enjoy the content you want, right away.

In this section, I will be telling you the method to use Amazon Echo or Echo Dot to control your Firestick. You can do it in other ways too, like control Firestick with phone where you will use the Amazon Fire TV app.

If you have more than one Fire TV device, you’ll need to use the Alexa app to pair your devices:

Go to the menu and select Settings.
Select TV & Video then Fire TV.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Select Link Devices to confirm your selection.

To manage your linked devices from the Alexa app open Settings from the menu, select TV & Video, select your linked Fire TV, and then select Manage devices.

Once you are done with the linking process, you can control the Firestick with a voice command.

Voice commands like “Watch[title]”, “Play, Pause, Stop”, “Open[app] or Launch[app]” are some common commands.

Using this method is quite interesting, as controlling everything just with a voice command.

I prefer this method too, as it is quite relaxing.

How To Add New Firestick Remote

Well, this method is quite simple, but you also have to pay for the new remote first, and if you have already had a new one so just follow the steps mentioned below.

Using the HDMI port of your TV, connect the Firestick with it.
Now, with your TV remote, press the Source button, and select the HDMI port with which Firestick is connected.
Now, with your new remote now, face it toward the TV and Firestick and press and hold the Home button for some time ( say10-15 seconds).
Wait until you see a flashing message “New Remote Connected”.

Repeat this method of pressing the Home button, if it does not connect the first time. Try moving the new remote closer and far away from the Firestick a few times.
